On April 8, 2000 a group of people met in Charlotte, NC and formed the Central Carolina Chihuahua Club. Since then, the CCCC has become sanctioned by the AKC to hold specialty shows, has helped thousands of dogs get health testing and has furthered knowledge of and about Chihuahuas to many fanciers, exhibitors and new people to the breed.
The club owes a lot to these founding members. Among them are Randy McIntosh (the first president of the club), Peggy O Wilson, Ed and Dorothy Martin, Joyce and Jack Edney, Diana Coble, Carla Soto, Sandy and Fred Clark, George and Diana Buell and Margaret Norkett.
Over the years, the club has hosted AKC Sanctioned Matches, showcased our breed at Meet the Breed events, hosted All-breed Health Clinics and Breed Seminars. Since becomming AKC Sanctioned in 2005, we have held two or more concurrent specialty shows a year during which we also hold fundraisers such as silent auctions and raffles.
If you think you would like to become a part of our group, please send an email to INFO.
